After noticing a troubling pattern of neglected patient populations, Dr. Siddiqui founded Semotus Health. Typically underserved areas discussed in healthcare refer to inner city populations, rarely rural populations – which Dr. Siddiqui recognized as inequitable and unjust Semotus Health’s goal is to fill the void left in these “medical deserts” with the gold standard of care at the convenience of the patient and their local health system. Semotus Health exists solely to take care of this overlooked population.

Dr. Siddiqui’s passion for rural medicine and providing access to care for the most underserved populations around the world arose after he went on a medical mission trip to the remote mountains of western Panama. The local indigenous population didn’t have access to cars and would need to ride on horseback for 12 hours to reach the nearest hospital. in 10 days, he saw 1,400 people and provided basic care. One patient was critically ill, and their team transported the patient to the nearest hospital which was a 2.5 hour car ride. Tragically, things are not much different in rural America, where patients are several hours away from the care that they need. Semotus Health is here to right this wrong.
